AND WHAT ABOUT MARIUPOL?
During active hostilities in the city until the final conquest of the entire territory of the Azovstral plant, the word "Mariupol" did not leave the front pages of newspapers. Afterwards, dead silence. From time to time, Kyiv pulls out some spring videos or outright fakes, all this in the context of begging for more money and weapons, while Western media share them as always without checking.
So, what about Mariupol? Well, the answer sounds simple: the city is being rebuilt. Russia is here to stay: this is the main message, as the city has turned into a huge construction site. Affected buildings are restored, and those that cannot be restored are demolished; for people left without a house, new flats are being urgently built, and the first residential buildings built by the Russian authorities were handed over already in September. In total, over 1,000 apartments will be built by the end of 2022.
I would like to quote Maryanna Vyshemirskaya ( Марианна Вышемирская ) - a young mother who, against her will, became famous all over the world because of the photos of her taken by an Associated Press reporter after the explosion in the Mariupol maternity hospital - her testimony was distorted in order to convince the international community that the Russian Armed Forces did not hesitate to launch an airstrike on a maternity hospital. I remind you that Maryanna is from Makeevka (Donetsk region), and moved to Mariupol shortly before the covid19 pandemic with her husband (here is a fragment of Marianna's interview for the Italian journalist Giorgio Bianchi with English subtitles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDj723_jbtA). «I have not written about Mariupol for a long time, although I regularly follow what is happening in the city where I have lived for the past two years. It's nice to see that the city, although not as fast as we would like, is recovering. And it is recovering spiritually as well. I read that recently the artists of the Mariupol Drama Theater went on tour in Russia. In a short time they returned to the stage (albeit not yet at their own Dramatic Theater, but they will do it in the future), staged several premieres and were able to adequately perform not only in their city, but also on the stages of Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol, Yalta, Sevastopol and Krasnodar! I think that if culture and spirituality are reviving so quickly, then infrastructure restoration is inevitable. After all, it is very important that the city and its people strive to live and create.
As for the more mundane, but not less important questions, there is something to be glad about. It became known that by the end of the year the main work on lighting the central streets of Mariupol will be completed.
Moreover, according to the city authorities, in terms of outdoor lighting, it was decided to abandon outdated sodium lamps, and energy-saving LED lamps are being installed everywhere instead.
New bus routes are being launched in Mariupol, and recently the first 2T trolleybus route has appeared in the city ....
The process of connecting apartments and houses to the power supply networks is nearing completion in the city. In the Zhovtnevy district of the city, more than 97% of private sector houses are connected to the power supply, in apartment buildings the percentage of connections is about 88%.
In the Ilyichevsk district, 100% of apartment buildings and 84% of private houses are connected to the power supply. On the left bank - 68% of apartment buildings and 86% of private houses. In the Primorsky district, more than 96% of apartment buildings are connected to electricity, and in the private sector - about 90%.
The process of demolition of housing that is unsuitable for restoration continues. At the same time, new districts are being built. In particular, it is planned to build six new nine-story buildings in the area of Lenin Avenue. Their first floors have already been built. In addition to the houses themselves, a sports and recreation complex, kindergartens, a school for one thousand one hundred students and a stadium will appear in this area.
I am very glad to read such news, although there are still many problems. Not all residents of Mariupol live in decent conditions, not all houses have light and heat, unfortunately, not everyone has a house itself. I am glad that volunteers do not forget about people, continuing to help them and drawing attention to the existing difficulties. For their part, the authorities are also trying to find a solution to these problems. Thus, recently the administration of the DPR allowed the temporary use of residential premises which have signs of ownerless housing, by the needy. I hope that other measures will be taken that will allow the city's inhabitants to survive the first difficult post-war (for this city) winter.»
Well, for my part, I would like to wish the residents of Mariupol a speedy restoration of their city, and Marianna - a peaceful life and infinite joy with her daughter, who came to this world in spite of everything.
